No.
What difference does it make? People walk out on their spouse all the time, get divorced, etc. What, are you going to chain them together too? If so, why not do it for older couples?
The average marriage is 50% likely to end in divorce. Forcing a marriage just means it will cost a lot to get divorced later.
Normally, marriage is so people can live together, raise kids, etc. To do so they have to love each other. If one or both are not ready for that, why would you force them? They'll just be miserable, the child will pick up on that and be unhappy too.
Too often the child is a mistake; why make it worse for everyone by forcing them to live together. In the good old days before welfare and court-ordered child support, a teen could work a farm and feed a family and that was good enough. If he mistreated his wife, the guy was always liable for a beating from the wife's family.
Today, it's better if both parents concentrate on finishing school and getting more mature. Society provides plenty of support for single mothers, even if the mother's family won't.Should teenagers be forced to marry when getting pregnant?
You don't marry because of children.
You marry based on compatability, likes, dislikes, sex, finances... never for children.
Because if you marry for children, and you have nada in common, then you'll have a crappy marriage.
teenagers having sex and getting pregnant doomed themselves.
No. Why? Because what if the father wants no part in the child's life? Then what? That happens way too often, and I doubt they will be willing to get married. Also, people can get pregnant from cheating, or one night stands... Which they should not have to get married because of that. People don't have to get married at all. Some don't believe in marriage. This ';idea'; is ridiculous.
If I had the choice of marrying my ex, or dying -- I'd choose death. He doesn't care to see his daughter, and she isn't his in his eyes. If I was forced to marry THAT, I'd kill myself. There's no way I'd agree to marry such a wanker ;)
Besides, I'm far too young to get married.
Teens who get married are far more like to get divorced.
I'd rather NOT. Just another stupid act on my part that would be... lmao:]
Thumbs downs? =]
Haha :]
No.
It'll accomplish nothing. What if they got pregnant with a random guy because they were drunk at a party, does that mean they would have to marry that stranger? Tie themselves to them for the rest of their lives?
That sounds like the best recipe for an unhappy marriage and a divorce, to me.
No, that's a thing of the past, not everyone gets married these days so they shouldn't be forced. They won't be commited and if they are under 16, then I don't think it's legal in the first place, I think that the legal age is 16 but you have to have parental consent.
Humans have free will, we should use it
:)
NO!! Marriage is not for reproduction, its for love.
If the two people love each other, they should, by all means, get engaged and married after they're already raising the baby.... to see if they're as compatible as they hope they are.
If they're NOT in love, then, well, that could lead to spousal or child abuse because they're so frustrated, being in a dead marriage.
well someone i know just turned 16 in march but during this time he got another 16 year old girl pregnant now they have to get married next month so yes i do agree that a child must have 2 parents and no as they should wait maybe when the child is older
NO, because if the parents don't want to get married then it will have no hope of working. and then they will not be happy and the baby will be in a bad environment.
No way, I think that is the reason there are so many unsuccessful marriages. There is a way to raise a child, without being married, parents who are just friends raise children a lot better than married couples sometimes.
Idk...It is up to the people and that is their decision. My family believes if you get pregnant or get a girl pregnant you should have to get married. That is why my family waits till marriage.
no.
because they aren't going to be able to commit properly if they were forced
they aren't mature enough
they need to focus on the pregnancy, not marriage
it will end in divorce, most likely
No way, on top of all the hormones and emotions felt from being pregnant there is no way they should also be forced to marry, when theyve already made one mistake they dont want to be forced into making another.
Absolutely not! l am against it.
-Forcing to marry couples who don't love each other
One example is all l can think of.
=]
No, wth. It was their decision to conceive so it should also be their decision to get married or not, period.
not only teenagers, adults as well
no one should be forced to omarry just because pregnancy
no!
They made a mistake geez.
Forcing someone to marry another person is horrible :/
i don't think marriage is the answer i think that they should be enrolled in a teen pregnancy program
No, it is their choise whether to merry anyone whether they had a baby with them or not.
That doesn't solve anything.
NO
they made already one stupid mistake, why forcing them to do a second one
thats retarded
No
It will never last.
no way, and neither should adults!!
absolutely not!! teens are not mature to handle that kind of relationship...nor a child. Take them to the abortion clinic and let them grow up!!
