That celebrities have too much influence over teenagers.?

this is my debate topic. i dont know weather i am affermitive or negative yet but if you have any information related to this topic may you share. That celebrities have too much influence over teenagers.?
Usually teens brought up with great parenting don't attempt to actually change their own behavior to that of one of their celebrity idols. They also will not like celebrities who are poor role models. teens will take cues from celebrities but make their own choices as to how they use what celebrities have to offer. I think we need to give teens more credit! if a teen does do something that emulates a negative behavior of one of their idols we need to ask ourselves if that teen would not have acted that way even if he/she did not know of that celebrity. In other words, the teen was troubled to begin with and repeating bad behaviors of a celebrity is just using that celebrity's behavior as an excuse. Here are some articles written about studies done on this subject. Hope this helps.

Yes,its true to a great extent. If u observe the few examples like:

1%26gt; When the film';Tere Naam'; was released in India, many boys adopted the hair style of the actor Salman Khan.

2%26gt;After the release of ';Munnabhai MBBS'; many students tried to copy the cheating idea the film showed(using mobile phones).

3%26gt;Cases of bank robbery, like in the film Dhoom were reported,in many parts of the country.

4%26gt;And the recent example is from the movie';Om Shanti Om'; in which actor Sharukh Khan had built athletic his body especially his -six pack abs,is -In the Move these days.

All these clearly shows that celebs have a great influence over teenagers.
For some, yes; for others, no. Translation: It's not the celebrities' fault. It's not the media's fault. It's not advertisers' fault. If a teenager decides to do something ';because a celebrity did,'; they should have the intelligence to predict the outcome and take responsibility for it.
