Teenagers: how long are you aloud to stay on the internet?

I'm 17 and in the summer holiday i was pratically on the internet 24/7 but since school im only aloud on the internet a hour per fri , sat , sunTeenagers: how long are you aloud to stay on the internet?
I'm ALLOWED on when ever I want. I bought my laptop, so I get all rights to it.

=]Teenagers: how long are you aloud to stay on the internet?
First of all, it's allowed, not aloud, in this context.

And I don't really have a time limit. If I've been, like, all day, then my parents tell me to get off, but I rarely do that.
Well, I am 20 but I just turned 20, so I can still answer this question.

When I was a teen, I was allowed on as long as I wanted to. I started using the computer when I was 10.

My mom never gave me a specific time limit and I liked that but I also wasn't an addict.
It's pretty much the other way around in my house.

I'm the one always fixing the computers or telling my parents how to do certain things etc. so it's not a worry for my parents.
i have a computer in my room, but before i had one in my room i was aloud on it for a hour and half a day. now i have one in my room i get bored of it easy.
Crap. I'm on it as soon as I get home and until I go to bed. Well at least I'm sitting at my computer. Usually I do everything at my desk - eat, drink, homework, sleep (haha, not really)
I have a computer in my room, and my parents dont care.

I go on whenever i feel like it.

Anything that keeps me out of there hair is a good thing to them.
As long as I want. You got limited because as you said you were on it 24/7. They don't want you to be like that so that's why the did it. My guess.
as long as i want. and if my parents ask, i just say im doing my homework. but other than that. my parents dont care. in fact they ask me to teach them how to use the computer.
However long I want because I take responsibility and do my homework and everything else I need to do.
I'm allowed to use the internet as much as i want, but that's because my parents trust me to not go on the internet 24/7.
I'm allowed on as much as I want as long as I finish the dishes and my homework :)
i dont have a actual limit but there is a time when they want me off lol. weekends - 3 hours

weekdays= no more than an hour and 15 minutes

im 13 btw
My parents don't care either. As long as I get off if they need to do something important (if they're expecting an important email, etc.).
Really? I'm allowed on whenever I please for whatever length I desire! :)
summer uhh my parents didnt care

school like 1-2 hrs, as long as i finish homework
thats retarded cuz my parents let me stay on as long as i want whenever i want and i'm 15
Anytime. :l
I'm 16 and I'm allowed to be online for however long I want since everyone in my house has their own laptop.
Whenever I want.
As much as I want really...except during school nights my mom might get a bit mad if I'm on it a lot...
All day.

As long as I do my school, and home, work, I can stay on it all day. 1pm - 12am, actually.
As long they don't really care

lol
my parents don't care. so as long as i want.
i dont have a limit. just sometimes im kicked off cause my dad may need to use it
I have my iPod touch
that stinks! im allowed onwhenever i want cuz i have my own laptop
that sucks! whenever I want. as long as I do my chores and homework.

hehe
My parents don't care.

However long floats my boat. :)
As long as I want?
as much as i want. as long as i do my homework :)

Teenagers how did you learn about sex and protection and std's?

i want to help young girls who are having sex without knowing what percautions to take. or what to do. or where to go. email me allTeenagers how did you learn about sex and protection and std's?
A lot of teens (and adults for that matter) don't want to openly ask questions about sex. A lot of teens come to the Internet to get their information about STDs, pregnancy and so forth. Look around Y!A and you'll see a lot of young folks looking for help.

The important thing is to point people to reliable sources so they don't get the wrong information. Trust me, there's a lot of misleading information out in cyberspace.

I think a great way to help young people learn about sex and safety is to direct them to the right info.

There are a few great sites out there:

We heard all about it thnx to teen magazines such as BRAVO
see if u can start up a safe sex club or a support groupfor teens. where they can come and talk to someone or have other kids to talk to. maybe go to a clinic or doctors office and ask around.

Why is this site dominated by teenagers?

I mean, I have nothing against teenagers (I was one once, too) but don't adults have questions, too? Is there another site that has more of a mix of ages? Why is this site dominated by teenagers?
I agree. You even see teens (as young as 13!) posting under Marriage / Divorce about their first kiss! It would be nice to have just an adult section. Why is this site dominated by teenagers?
Most of my contacts are in the 30 - 55 age group. I've seen someone who claimed to be 8 years old, and I've seen two people who claimed to be in their 80s. Of course, I've seen a lot of teens and 20-somethings, too.

Try asking and answering when the kids are in school...you might get adults (using this site from work or home)...there are many.
Teens these days like to feel more grown up dont they? And teenagers have problems that some adults can help because they've already been there. Its not a problem to me. If youve got a question, ask it!
Actually it really isn't...

I used to think the same, also

until I began seeing more and more q. and a.'s

being asked and answered by people of ALL

ages..

It's just that at certain times, teenagers post a lot,

and there is a lot more traffic within a certain time

period.

But sometimes they post the funniest, or greatest

questions,

and - on the Rare Occasion when I've needed help

with MySpace, or errors on my computer, I'm always

amazed that it's them that help me!

I feel lucky they're here...

I guess we're all a mixed bunch, with differing problems,

and able to help each other in many ways..
I haven't used them very much, but I know of at least one more, Wiki Answers. Maybe we should migrate over there.

  • Is benidorm a good place for teenagers?

im going soon and would like to know if there is plenty to do and keep them occupied is 7 days enough or is 10 or 14 days better? Is benidorm a good place for teenagers?
I think 7 days would be a little long for there. 14 days would be extremely overdose.

    third

fourth ?As a cause of death among teenagers, alcohol-impaired driving ranks:?
First is motor vehicle crashes though it doesn't take into account alcohol-impaired driving. MADD claims that roughly half of all fatal vehicular accidents involve alcohol.

    Second is Homicide.

Third is Suicide. As a cause of death among teenagers, alcohol-impaired driving ranks:?

It would be first or second.
I believe it ranks second, followed by drugs.

I'm not positively sure however so don't quote me.
    FIRST...............

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among 15- to 20-year olds. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, 3,490 drivers in this age group died in motor vehicle crashes in 2006 and an additional 272,000 were injured. Drivers age 15- to 20-years old accounted for 12.9 percent of all the drivers involved in fatal crashes and 16 percent of all the drivers involved in police-reported crashes. Twenty-five percent of teen drivers killed were intoxicated. In 2002 the estimated economic cost of police-reported crashes involving drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 was $40.8 billion, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

TEENAGERS: Have you ever hid from your parents that you're dating someone?

And if so, how long did you and that person date for?

Thank you!TEENAGERS: Have you ever hid from your parents that you're dating someone?
Not a teen anymore but I did. I remember it like it was yesterday, the ';secret'; relationship lasted about 3 months, I thought it was a secret anyway. Turns out at my 5 year high school reunion I saw the guy and he informed me that my dad knew and cornered him one day at school. (My dad is a 6'5'; phy ed teacher and coach) He scared him and like that the relationship was over, it wasn't until the 5 year reunion that I found out why he just disappeared one day. It's funny now. Oh, we were freshman at the time.

I guess most of us have done it at some time in our lives, for whatever reason. Mine was that I thought my parents would disapprove of our age, we were 14.TEENAGERS: Have you ever hid from your parents that you're dating someone?
    :) Funny you ask...

I'm not ';dating'; him officially, we're just friends with benefits. We've been going out for like a month now and he lives down the street from me. My parents know him, though. He's close with our family so it's not exactly risky.
yes. cause i wasn't aloud to date. but im a wimp and i hate keeping secrets and i quit going out with him in like a day. i know. sad.
I can never hide anything. Im that bad at lying but im also good at it too. Its weird. But when it comes to dating, no. It will always be known.
yes; we were together for over 4 months and one day it was over. just like that. he broke up with me and hours later he already had a new girl.
    No
    Yes, for 3 months :)
    No.
    yes

Teenagers: would you go a show with your dad?

Not like a metal show, but like an acoustic show. My dads pretty easy, but is it still OK?Teenagers: would you go a show with your dad?
Yea it mite e fun just try it!!! i went to see a cheerleader movie with my dad!!!

And we laughed our butts offTeenagers: would you go a show with your dad?
    hell yeah!
Of course it's ok! WHY wouldn't it be!?! You will be doing more things with your father later on when you get older as well!!! What's stopping you from doing this now? Nothing is! Enjoy the time you have with your Dad! He's your father and there is NOTHING UNCOOL about it! Don't worry if other kids your age can't own up to maturity if they think hanging out with their Dad's is lame! (Given if this is why you are asking) I think it's awesome that you want to share time and interest with him and I think you are lucky he's pretty easy going if you say so! So have a blast... go out have fun! :)
Yeah, my dad's cool as hell. We're going to see Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello on Saturday. Can't wait!
What do you mean? Whose approval are you seeking? Are you asking if it is socially acceptable amongst teenagers to actually have a good time with your dad and do something you both like?
I'm 23, but when I was a teenager I used to go to shows with my dad all the time. Go for it, nothing is stopping you and your dad would probably be really pleased to spend time with you.
Lol why would it not be ok?

If your dad wants to then go!

My dad would never want to go soooooo I wouldn't ever ask him.

But yeahs it is fine to do it.

    =]
    hell yes
    Yeah my dad's real chill.
Yah as long as u don't think ur friends will be there
i know this is outdated probably, but my dad took me to see marilyn manson when i was in high school and it was ok. lol if my dad could take me to that, you can have your dad take you to an acoustic show.
Yeah, if you two are into the same music and you get along well with him there's no problem with your going to a show with him
    Not with mine.

But yeah you should go with yours.

Keep going places so he doesn't get used to not going places with you and never will again.

That's what my dad did. =/
Yeah, absolutely! Thing is, we don't really like a lot of the same music - his taste can get pretty corny, but that's all subjective hehe. If you guys have the same interest in music then why not? I think that's a great way to spend time with your dad.
    yea sure go have fun~

  • Suggestions for a road trip with teenagers this summer?

What are some really fun cities or locations? I was thinking Chicago, Philadelphia, Rocky Mountains...Suggestions for a road trip with teenagers this summer?
If you are in the northeast, then New York City/New Jersey/Boston is fun for teenagers, because NYC is packed with things to do...you name it--shopping, art, musems, history, park, zoo...the list goes on. New Jersey is also fun for teenagers because there is a lot of shopping there, and there's no tax on clothing, which is nice. Boston is really pretty and like New York City, full of things to do. In NYC I definetly suggest the Liberty Science Center if you haven't been there. It's so fun!! Boston also has a science center which is a good one. If they are into sports, New York and Boston are the best. They both have teams for every sport, and the places they play at are also nice. If you're going to be in the Northeast, you've gotta hit NY/Boston/New Jersey.

If you are going out to the West, California is BEAUTIFUL. I liked San Francisco the best out of the Cali cities I've been to. Teenagers like Pier 39...it's like a mall, except its on a pier right out to the ocean in San Francisco. It's really fun! (Make sure the check out the sea lions on Pier 39 if you do that...they're really funny!) They will also love Los Angeles. If you can, try to see if you can set up a little surfing lesson. When I was in California, I went surfing, and I loved it! I'm sure they will to...especially if they like the ocean and water. There's plenty of back roads too that are just really pretty, ideal for a roadtrip, especially in Northern California up near the wine vineyards. California has so many great cities...up and down the coast...that would be an awesome road trip to take!! (I'd love it, and I'm a teenager...)

Well, I hope that helped...good luck and have fun on your trip.Suggestions for a road trip with teenagers this summer?
if you are out west...they are going to want to do Calif, because it's so ';cool';...including the OC, San Diego, up to San Francisco and the surfing along Huntington Beach areas down South. Of course, Hollywood. (they think that's where movies are made). Of Course Beverly Hills and rodeo Drive. (they think there's good shopping there). The coastal drive is magnificent.

Kids get kind of bored driving around the Midwest (which i love...because of the distances between anything interesting).

    Philly in the summer? Ugh.

But I will say this: are they boys? or love baseball/ ? We did a road trip to major league stadiums and games, Baltimore, washington, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati and they loved it.
ok we did this NY to TX to FL trip ...

our stops were the Natural Bridge and Caverns in VA

    and Graceland in TN

We would have liked to have stopped more unfortunately we had a dog and a time frame to be at family homes in between ... but the trips were great ... and attitude is everything.

I hear the grand canyon has built a clear walk out overlooking the canyon ... which I'm hoping will be our next destination.

I hope you enjoy yours (we've taken the kids on road trips every year for 8 yrs from NY to FL) some of them were nothing more than travelling ... but it's a great time to talk and just have fun ... I always thought it couldn't be that they'd want to keep doing it but every year they say they're looking forward so I must've done something right along the way ... and you'd be surprised at the little things you find along the way.
If your teens like to hike, Rocky Mountain NP is a great spot. Boulder and Denver are in the area and there's lots to do there.

Or how about Glacier National Park?

We always visited a lot of national parks on our trips. I think a theme park is a theme park is a theme park, but teens like those, too.

We usually try to let each member of the family have a say in the itinerary. On a trip to Massachusetts our son picked the Basketball Hall of Fame. I thought I'd hate it but it was a lot of fun!

What is there to do for teenagers in Paris

    Your Answer:

I was there last year and saw lots of kids tour age in the park right in front of the Eiffel tower. They were picnicking and just taking in the beautiful sites of Paris.

For shopping - my daughter is a teenager and the only thing she really wanted to do there was shop. Unfortunately, the Champs Elysee is where most of the shops are and 95% of them are incredibly expensive as it's the original designer shops which are all along that street. However, about half way down the street going toward the Arc de Triomphe there was one reasonably priced store and ny daughter did all of her shopping there. It was called MimWhat is there to do for teenagers in Paris
Well, to begin with, all the same sightseeing things that adults do.

I began taking my daughter to Europe when she was 10 and we often took one of her school friends along too (which made her very popular at school).

Now perhaps its because she's extraordinarilly intelligent (all parents like to think their children are brilliant) but she always enjoyed the same sights and museums that my wife and I did (her friends did too).

My practice was never to underestimate my child and she never disappointed me. You may find that there's no problem with keeping your teenager interested.

However, to directly address your question, here are some suggestions.

Check out the big plaza in front of the Centre Pompidu (Which contains the Museum of Modern Art). On most sunny afternoons you'll find all sorts of street entertainers there. Among these will almost always be some guys doing big involved audience participation comedy bits. When they call for volunteers (and they always do) encourage your teenager to stand up. The fact that he/she probably doesn't speak French will be NO problem (they deal with tourists all the time) These guys tend to be very good and very funny. You'll both have a great time and a great story to tell when you get home (get a photo to prove it).

Go down to the river. In the Summer they cart in a bunch of sand and turn a section of the Seine riverbank into an artificial ';beach.'; You can't swim in the Seine (its really polluted) but people play beach volleyball and otheriwse act like they are at the beach.

Bring along the roller skates. At ten p.m. every Friday night thousands of people gather in the the Place d'Italie and proceed to rollerskate thru the streets accompanied by a special Police unit to clear the way and keep them safe.the organizers change the route every week and always try to include some historical/tourist sights along the way.

Go shopping where young people in Paris shop, to wit, Tati, at 18, Boulevard Rochechouart.Prices a low (for Paris) and they can be assured that whatever they buy will be in fashion. (http://www.tati.fr/www/)What is there to do for teenagers in Paris
    SHOPPING!!! :)

How does unhealthy foods like mcdonalds and food with lots of preservatives effecting teenagers health?

they are putting their heart and kidney at alot of risk. Diatebes, high colestorol and obesity are also a big risk. How does unhealthy foods like mcdonalds and food with lots of preservatives effecting teenagers health?
they affect EVERYONE's health including young people.

The stuff in that food makes you hungry not long after you ate, and it's addicting so it makes you want it all the time.

It is not healthy food therefore it cannot produce a healthy body. It's ok in moderation but alot of people eat it all the time. That's why our USA country is full of fat people.

Before McDonalds' was invented - very few people were fat. Look at videos of the 60's and 70's.......hardly no one was fat. And now other parts of the world are becoming fat too becasue they come here and eat our food.

Eating healthy will prolong your life and making good habits NOW will make it that much easier for you.How does unhealthy foods like mcdonalds and food with lots of preservatives effecting teenagers health?
Empty calories, lots of sodium, fatty, etc. Make a burger at home... it's probably a lot healthier. Most things from fast food places are full of sodium.

The only thing I get is DD coffee with cream, the rest I just eat at home or from a deli.
I don't think that it is so much the preservatives as the fat and calories in the food. Bad stuff - will just bring on the pounds later.
YES! you need to watch Supper Size Me! its a great movie, it talks about that kind of stuff!
    Yeah, duh!

I was a teenager in the 50's..We ate the same things you eat today..Hamburgers ,fries %26amp; drank cokes..My favorite was cherry coke.. Hot dogs were another favorite too .. We didn't have all the fast food places you have today..our moms lectured us just as I'm sure yours lectures you.. As you grow older you will find the more things change the more they stay the same..Think about it .. Enjoy your teens ..they end too quickly..

Teenagers who get pregnant while in high school should not be allowed to continue their education...?

why people like that... i know they should be allowed to continue their high school education but give me reasons why they should not...it's for a bloody debate...this is the third time I've wrote this and people still tell me they have a right, i know they have a right!!! but tell me why they should not continue their high school education...plzTeenagers who get pregnant while in high school should not be allowed to continue their education...?
There is no reason why they shouldn't. Moral arguments aside, public schools are tax funded, they can't deny educational services to any student under any circumstance as long as they're under the age of 21 and are not a threat to themselves or others.

    End of discussion.

(Private schools can obviously do whatever the hell they want)

Do anti-age products work on teenagers?

I'm 17, my eyes are saggy and I was wondering if I used an anti-aging substance like ';lift gel'; or ';tightening lotion'; or something like that (which some are ';anti-aging';), would it have the opposite affect or would it work the way it is supposed to like on a middle-aged person with similar skin conditions?Do anti-age products work on teenagers?
sleeep like ur being paid fr it !Do anti-age products work on teenagers?
I've heard that prematurely using anti-aging products is more likely to cause wrinkles down the line.

If you really are taking good care of yourself, drinking plenty of water, getting lots of sleep, avoiding excess sun then you shouldn't be getting wrinkles at this age. If the wrinkles are noticable I'd go see a dermatologist or even regular dr to make sure you don't have anything going on to cause the aging.
You shouldn't need to use anti-aging products if you're only 17. If your skin is wrinkly or looks ';aged,'; you probably should go see a dermatologist.
uhh... 17 year olds dont ';age';, you are probably just tired. get more rest and your eyes wont be saggy

What are your thoughts on teenagers today?

Im glad Im not a teenager anymore. Today's teenagers suck.

All these labels are getting annoying. (emo, goth etc.)What are your thoughts on teenagers today?
Teenagers now are just like teenagers in any other decade. We do bad things but learn from them as we get older. One thing I cannot stand are the labels that exist more as a teenager in the 21st century (ex. preppy, goth, ghetto, nerd, geek, loser, emo,e鈥?list goes on and on), as well as the constant bullying that I witness in my school. You can probably say that the drugs and alcohol that teenagers did in say the 70'd and 80's is more frequent now then before but that depends on who the teen hangs out with and how they were raised. In my opinion, teens are acting older then they really are which is in some ways good or bad depending on the maturity of the person. I'm a sophomore in high school but I would see middle schoolers looking and acting as if they are in high school or college when they're only in the seventh grade and doing things that clearly are way out of their league and age. What are your thoughts on teenagers today?
    They're all going to hell.
Since I don't know all teenagers, I can't really say. I can only comment on the one's I've encountered and I do have to say that the majority of them are rude and very ignorant. Some of them, though, are very bright, respectful and eager to learn. But just like with every other human being, despite age, there are idiots and there are decent people. I just wished that, in this day and age of technology, with everything available to them with basically just the flip of a switch or click of the mouse, that they would learn more. The biggest problem I have with those who are idiots is there blatant hate and disrespect for the elderly. These kids should learn from the older folks, not shove them around and make fun of them. It makes me want to slap the hell out of their parents...
    I'm fourteen years old, I'm a teenager, and I don't think we're half bad.

Sure, we label and we gossip, but doesn't everybody? I mean, why do you think the tabloids exist?

Yes, we make noise and do drugs and drink and listen to crappy music, but I'm pretty sure your parents thought the exact same thing of you guys when you were our age. We're young. We want to have fun. Don't expect us to grow up so fast and be all uptight and proper. Teenagers have always been weird and considered ';bad'; and ';in need of discipline.'; It was the same 10 years ago and it was the same 100 years ago, and it'll be the same 50 years from now. It's just the way things are.
I'm a teenager and I've never done anything really bad in my teenage life and I doubt I ever will but I do see majority of teenagers trying to grow up fast and be something their not, do things they aren't suppose to be doing and I hear a lot of stories about doing drugs, drinking and other things during school. I've never been involved with any of it but you can't blame the teenagers they must learn it from somewhere....
    hey, i'm a teenager....

but yes, most teenagers do suck.

i agree with the labels thing but its not really that defined in most schools... in mine it isn't that much, at least...

i think that alot of them are immature or rude. but you can't really say what you think of today's teenagers, because you don't know each and every teenager. until you have met them all, then you can come up with a good conclusion.
Most of them are lazy and disrespectful.

If their posts an yahoo answers are any indication, they're also illiterate.
    some're stupid...some lost..

    edit: candian bacon LOL
    harry enfield..........
Teens are like any other people...a few winners, a whole lot of losers. I really hate it when good, informed, upstanding teens like myself are lumped together with the jackholes.
I love them!! They're at a tough stage in their lives and have a lot of pressure to handle from school, parents, society, etc and I think that for what they're asked to handle most of them are doing pretty good. I also think that sometimes they're unfairly judged by people of all ages (my ten year old cousin told me that teenagers are stupid and I always hear people griping about how lazy teens are).

They're not as bad as their reputation.

  • Please help me find a attention getter for my ';Marijuana abuse among teenagers'; speech?

Hi, Im doing my persuasive speech and I have big problems with finding a attention getter to my speech . Please anybody who has some ideas, please write them to me.

my speech is about Marijuana abuse among teenagers in the US.

Thank you so much!.Please help me find a attention getter for my ';Marijuana abuse among teenagers'; speech?
Marijuana contains more than 400 chemicals, of which 60 are cannabinoids.

Smoking a marijuana cigarette deposits about three to five times more tar into the lungs than one filtered tobacco cigarette. Please help me find a attention getter for my ';Marijuana abuse among teenagers'; speech?
Find a story about a teen who was in a car accident after they had been smoking pot. Or pantomime inhaling on a joint, letting it out, then mumble something incoherent. That will get their attention and you've used a visual effect to demonstrate how marijuana use can negatively affect your speech and ultimately your judgment.
Roll up several fake fatties and put one in your mouth and one behind each ear. Act goofy.
Not speaking about the issue does not make it go away. Talking about it does not encourage it's use. We must educate ourselves and our youth on the realities of the use of illegal drugs. The health risks as well as the legal risks.. Hope this is helpful to you. God bless****

Does online dating work for teenagers?

I met a girl on an online dating service. We have been talking back in fourth for the last month and a half. Both Of us have displayed an interest in meeting each other and we live in the same city ,but I wander what are the chance that this will work out being we are teenager. I鈥檓 starting to like her. Can it work?Does online dating work for teenagers?
Bring an adult with you to any meeting you might have with anyone online. (If you are an adult, bring a buddy, lol)

She might be a 40 year old man out to rape you.Does online dating work for teenagers?
be careful with that kind of stuff
    nah ull get kidnapped
not really becuz they're all like old people.
usually convos on the internet ar every different from convos in person. you should hang out and see how it goes.
Just be careful. WHen you meet her, bring a adult. Then, if it's who you're expecting, you're probably off to a good start.
The most important thing in relationships is honesty. If you are talking to someone on an online dating service and you are a teenager then one of you ( or possibly both) has lied about your age. Not off to a very good start. Stick to dating people you know or people your friends know.

Ok how many parents of teenagers who have babies think it hard to force them to grow up?

k i am asking this question just to ask ok cause i know a girl who i have mentioned before and well because her parents forced her to grow up and have the baby and take care of the baby she tired to kill the innocent baby and it makes me sad when some parents wont help their kids they just feel that they did it they need to grow up ( i dont know about all parents but that is how the parents in my town see it) so i just want to get other parents opinons on it ThanksOk how many parents of teenagers who have babies think it hard to force them to grow up?
Seems as if it is a little too late--why not educate kids on sex and resulting babies or diseases before they are out all over town with no guidance or morals?? A baby is not a doll or a toy--a girl gets pregnant and it is her responsibility along with the FATHER of the child. That's the truth. But if they are taught young about NOT having sex--they wouldn't have these issues. The baby forces adult responsibility--not the parents--your friends are forced to realize the results of their actions. that's life !!What did you expect a set of parents to do??--just ignore it and put the baby in the trash because their little girl was out without any education?? WRONG--time to grow up !! Kill a baby?? Is jail a better option?? No--keeping their legs together is a better option.Ok how many parents of teenagers who have babies think it hard to force them to grow up?
my daughter was 15 when she had her first one ( now she has three) this what i think if she thought she was old enough to play house then shes old enough to grow up and be an adult take care of her responsibilities..... lol she still hasn't grown up!!!!!!!!
obviously this child should think about adoption. she won't grow up and think about what is important in her life so she should let someone else raise this baby to become a responsible person. She won't be teaching this child anything that it needs to know and then the pattern will repeat itself when this child grows up.
Well, this is the thing.....If you feel like you're an adult by having sex, then you have to be an adult and take the consequences that come along with it. If you have sex, you can have a baby. It's as easy as that.

With that being said, I do not think it's right that people are killing their babies, whether through abortion or whatever the case may be, just because they don't want to take responsibility for what they have chose to do. I believe that if someone wants to be so selfish, they need to give their baby to someone who will love them, and keep their legs closed. Bottom line.
A child can not be forced to grow up. Many babies who have babies actually regress and are stunted in their maturing. However, some do step up to the plate and take on the responsibility w/honor. Teenagers who have babies are lacking because they didn't get parented properly. Therefore, their children are likely to suffer if someone doesn't step up and support them.

I'll be very upset if one of my children chooses to become a teenage parent. I say choose because it is just that, A Choice! I have raised them with love and an understanding of marriage and sex. I pray they will choose the right path. If one of my kids does get pg out of wedlock, I will still love my child and my grandchild with all my heart and without attacks on their self esteem.

Abortion is murder and the ';Every child a wanted child'; line is from the pit of hell. We (as a human) race just need to be better wanters!
That is incredibly sad. Most states have Safe Haven laws, which allow mothers to legally drop off their newborns at hospitals and police stations, no questions asked- but so many people are unaware of it. Everybody please spread the word so that we can see fewer of these tragedies in the future.

    %26lt;3 Kelsey
If someone gets pregnant, they should grow up and take care of the baby not get an abortion. Abortions aren't birth control. They grew up when they laid down.

I also wanted to add that your friend should be lucky that her parents helped her 'grow up' and take care of the baby. They could have just kicked her out, put her in a group home, etc.
They got themselves into the mess they get themselves out u F******* did it to urself haha id tell my kid that kill the baby be a criminal good job

At what age do most teenagers lost their virginie?

well i know a hole lot of 14 year olds (mostly female) that lost it when they were 13 years old.........is that the right age??????At what age do most teenagers lost their virginie?
    Virginie??

:DAt what age do most teenagers lost their virginie?
I lost mine at 9 years old because I was raped but willingly I lost it at 16 you should actually wait until you are like 18 or even married cuz if you have sex with someone and they don't love you and you don't love them then that will ruin a relationship even if you do love them and they love you it can still ruin a relationship if your not ready....So wait don't try it because everyone else is doing it....Trust me I made that mistake and I really dont want to see anyone else make the same mistake I did whether I know you or not.....Just wait until you and your partner are both ready.....PLEASE I am b egging you if its already happened then stop while you still can cuz believe it or not sex can be addicting I know that for a fact.....I may only be 18 but I know alot more than most people my age does because of the things that has happened in my life.....Im telling you to save yourself for the right person and the right time youll be glad you did cuz if yu start now youll regret it later on down the road.....I know I do
Me and most of my friend were like 17ish, some even closer to 18 or 19 and very few were younger than that.

I think 13/14 is a little young, but there is no ';right time';, it's different for every person. I doubt many people are emotionally ready at 13 though, I think 17 or so is a much better age!

Just make sure your safe, use protection, and think ';if this person breaks up with me/never talks to me again'; will you be OK with that? Or if you don't marry them? Or what if you meet someone after that you want to marry that is a virgin and your not.. Are you OK with that?

But yes, I think thats a bit too young.

And don't be stupid about it and do it for the wrong reasons. Don't do it because you feel pressured. Don't do it because you want to be cool. Don't do it just because your curious. Really think about it.

Also make sure your educated on the risks, protect yourself, get an std test (even if your a virgin), and don't trust rumors like ';can't get pregnant standing up'; because it's just not true!

    Good luck!
You should save your virginity for when you are in a committed relationship with a man you are sure you love. When you are able to discuss protection and knowledgeable about what possible things could happen after having sex (pregnancy, disease, broken heart, etc) And most of all, knowing proper spelling, grammar and punctuation for a query like this.
personaly i bekive sex is to be shared when two people love each and are joined in marrage. but u see i live garrett county......we have 2 highschools and 2 middle schools......5 middle schoolers are prego and around 3 highschoolrs are. so around here most lose it n-e where from age 11 to whenever....hope that answers ur ?!!! god bless
I think you should do it when you feel comfortable and prepared, whether you are 13 or 20 it doesn't matter. If you are scared of it, then don't do it, but if you feel ready then just go for it. Also make sure that its the right guy/girl that you are doing it with.
no its not, theyre far too young and will regret the decision.

im not a good example because i lost it whne i was 14 but i really regret it and i think it was a really dumb decision and no girls should ever do it that early
Dude that's seriously disgusting......Anyone who would take a little girls virginity is scum of the earth and need to be skinned alive. I have a 13 year old sister......and she hardly knows anything about life/sex. If anyone touched a 13 year old I'd kill them. Freaks.
How many girls do you know that seriously lost it at that age? They are mostly lying. Maybe a couple, but that is very trashy. When you are maybe 19 and in a serious relationship I'd say is a good time to loose your virginity.
There aren't really stats on this question. People can only give you their age. I lost mine a year ago, at 13. It was pretty much an accident. I knew enough about sex to stay protected but I definitely was not or will not be ready anytime soon.
That's too early. They lack s*x education.

You must have it after your Wedding Day with the man/woman you really love unconditionally.

Adolescents are too curious and exited about it. So, don't do it. Its too early.
i know some of my friends lost it when they were around that age but i don't think there is a right age as long as you know that you are ready mentally, emotionally and physically
most teens lose their virginity between the ages of 13-17, i think that to some it is the right age, but for me its not the right age
I think its discusting that people have sex before the age of 16. I didnt have sex till I was 19 %26amp; I had been in a relationship with my bf for a year and a half.....
globally it's averaging at 17.3 years.

in America and the UK, it's about 17. The latest country is India, at 18-some years.
The statistical average is 17 -- and it hasn't changed much over the past few decades.

    http://www.newstrategist.com/productdeta…
Most lose their virginities at 13/14

I think its whenever you're ready

atleast 17/18 %26lt; -HORMONES START RAGING RAPID AT THOSE AGES
definitly not. more recently kids are losing their virginity younger and younger. most kids wait until at least 16 but their are some younger ones that are doing it sooner.
No 13 is too young. You just became a teenager.

    I lost mine when i was 15 but i could/should have waited.

    Id say most around 16-17.

!3 yr olds that arent virgins are usually sluttyy
I think the norm age is 16; but yes it does seem that the norm age is getting around to 14.

    but I lost mine at 14. I'm 16 now.
There isnt a right or wrong age, it depends on the person. Some mature quicker than others, some people are ready sooner

  • Why do people think all teenagers r bad?

when i hear people say that it drives me crazy! not all r like that! its only the bad ones who make the news!

pleaz no stupid answers. Why do people think all teenagers r bad?
Historically, teenagers go through a rebellious stage. While some don't, a lot actually do, whether it be arguing and being grumpy with their folks or worse...I mean, I know I did, arguing with my mum and dad, ignoring what they told me, etc...Why do people think all teenagers r bad?
    statistic proven them right

that's why you pay higher car insurance

    you like to drink

    party and have premartial sex

so the reputation is justly deserved

this is nto ot say there are not good teens

    there are

but there are far more screwed up ones that good ones
I don't feel that way, all 4 of my children where 13 - 19 at the same time, Sometimes things got a little hay wired, but mostly it was fun watching them grow up and having a good time, plus they all where my best friends too. Sounds silly to others, but they helped raise me to be a better person and moma.
I don't think that all teenagers are bad. You are right- it IS the bad ones that make the news. You rarely hear about the teenagers doing something good. Why don't you tell us what really good thing you've done lately?
I like teenagers. I think they're funny and cute; fun to watch. But, you're right, only the bad ones make the news. And, they can be a trial at times, as they try to assert their independence and as their hormones surge. Nothing worse than a pack of teenagers with cell-phones on the train! But adults should remember: We were all teenagers once!!
No, that is a sterotype, I hate to hear that myself. When I was a teenager, adults didn't like me just because of that. It saddens me that people still believe that.
because people remember the bad things they did as teenagers and assume that all teens will do bad things.
You answered it yourself. The bad ones are the only ones that make the news. This makes it seem that all teenagers are bad. I say:

    I am bad.
Because WE used to be teenagers !!!! duh
Its the most common stereotype unfortunately. Change it.
Not all people think all teenagers are bad. Thats also stereotyping. There are good and bad of everyone whether it be teens or adults. If you think everyone thinks you or other teens are bad I'm sure they will meet someone who thinks just the opposite. Don't believe everything you hear. That maybe an old saying but it's a true one.
It's a stereotype. All you can do is try to prove it wrong.
When people see the news that is going on today with kids doing things that fall below standards they get the impression that all kids are like that. Don't like it get you upset just prove people wrong do better then they expect you to
I don't think all people think teenagers are bad. I certainly don't. I know lots of teenagers that are great! Teenagers are going through a tough time, and they tend to be rebellious. But that is a part of growing into an adult.
    Stereotyping, Statistics. etc..
because every generation rebels to try to be differant from the ones before, some times its good, for it opens up new ideas, and ways of doing things, and some times its a step into a way of life thats unmanageable, like revereing pimps and hos or wanting to emulate people with no moral compass ,like certain leaders that steal in office and get caught, im afraid that a lot of people paint themselves into the corner and lose their options in life by blindly following bad role models,, an olde dude
    stereotyping
teens are good you have to think you were there once yourself
I have three great teenagers that behave badly but are good kids Got to love em
They tend to generalize one bad thing on everything.

Somes are extremely annoying, specially the ones who wouldn't even take off their annoyingly big backpack off their back in the bus. Stupidly annoying. The ones who do might be exceptions.
It is pretty simple. Generally people ony pay attention to the bad and gorry that is put on the news. Sooo, the media helps by only printing the bad. We don't hear about the teenagers who volunteer for hours each week, or get straight A's, or the ones that just do as they're told and obey their parents. It does not sell add space. I have lots of teenagers in my world and they are all great. Here is my suggestions, if you are a great or just well behaved teenager, just toot your own horn. Let the world know what I already know, that there are many great teenagers in the world.
It's always been that way. Some teenagers get in trouble, but it impacts on us all. I've gotten a lot of dirty looks, just walking through a store. I've had a friend who couldn't get gas at a gas station because the women running it didn't trust him to pay for the gas lol. I have though seen a lot of teenagers acting like idiots in malls and on the streets though, so it's better to be safe than sorry I guess...but I know it's still unfair for EVERYONE to be judged the same because of some little jackasses.
I think it's with every generation. I don't think there are so many bad teenagers, I just think they don't always make wise choices, but that's everyone, not just teenagers. I have 2 boys that just turned 17 %26amp; 18 and they're decent kids they just don't think right all the time. If it bothers you why not say something the next time you hear someone say something like that, confront them nicely, and maybe they'll have a change of heart.
I don't think all of them are bad. I have 2 good ones of my own.
unfortunately, one bad apple spoils the bunch. and youre stuck with the reputation. I work with a lot of great teenagers. But great teenagers don't make interesting news stories.
cuz they learning bout bad things and still immature so combined=stupid stunts
of course they think where bad look at some of the stuff teenagers have done its all horrible. oh wait whats this adults have done the same and worse. point made.
i HATE it when ppl say we are all bad ur right the STUPID ppl b4 us%26lt;not all of them%26gt; have ruined it for us the ppl b4 us had to do stupid things%26lt; once again not all of them%26gt; but some of them have ruined it for all of us!!!! it is not fair!
I would geuss, being a fellow teenager, is that it really is only the bad ones who make the news. I would also venture to geuss that the good ones have some flaw, and since most other teenagers are bad, the flaws are emphasized, and the teenager's good parts aren't being brought to attention.
I think you are a very well spoken teen-ager and i completely agree with you to the fullest extent. I believe that teen-agers are getting the raw end of life and something needs to be done with this. Luckily, when you grow up, people won't think of you as a drug addict or a crime committer.

Are you the parent? Ok, here are some ideas:

    1. Check with your local riding stable and see if you can arrange for carriage rides or even a hayride in the moonlight.

    2. Rent a tent, lots of little white lights, a dance floor, d.j., etc.

    3. Roller skating?

    4. Host a Mystery Theater night, guests coming in costume with ';characters'; to act out the theme of ';who dunnit';

    5. Create your own kitchen stadium and have cook-off's.

    6. Get tickets to a concert or play that everyone would enjoy

    7. Slumber party! Mixed Group? Lots of chaperones! :)

    8. Volunteer with the homelessI need a good idea for night time birthday party will 22 teenagers any suggestions?
Will it be in someone's home? Try having different ';stations'; in the house. For example, have movies in one room, set up an Xbox in another room, board games upstairs, snacks in the kitchen, music and dancing (or chilling) in another room... let the guests wander.

do you think relationship at the age of 18 or 19 are serious ones %26amp; could last long??

or are they just sexual cause teenage hormone stuff?Do you think relationships of teenagers are serious or just physical?
    it depends

if they take it slow enough and mature enough, then it could last

but if its a one night stand, then no

    can you answer mine?

thank you :)Do you think relationships of teenagers are serious or just physical?
At that age I say physical because at that age you are all for the sex and getting the groove on. I have known with others it could be serious because they want to settle down. I am just saying I have seen the serious part but mostly the physical part.
well some people just feel lust.

But there are some mature people who are old enough to know how to be a good...uhh, companion i suppose. They take it slow, and it should last a while.

I guess for the most part, it's physical. But there are some who are mature enough. =]
they could be serious! i know couples who have been together for years who got together at 16 x
    teenage hormone bullshlt.

i dare you to try to find someone who is still with their partner from when they were 19.
tough one - all depends on maturity - i've seen young couples last (not many though) and most fall apart. you decide.

Why is it that, when teenagers are moody, they want to be mature, but.......?

When they're happy and hyper, they're immature, and behaving badly at school?

I'm feeling like this at the moment, I'm 16, and really, I like feeling moody and mature rather then happy and hyper, because I act like a child!

Anyone has this feeling? Why is it that, when teenagers are moody, they want to be mature, but.......?
Nope. It's just you, you crazy person.

Of course everyone feels like that at some point, it's just hormones and constapation. Why is it that, when teenagers are moody, they want to be mature, but.......?
You don't go from child to adult overnight. Adolescence is about learning to be adult while still reverting to the familiar and secure surroundings of childhood. That's why you keep switching between the two driving your parents and teachers round the bend.

Eventually, you'll find that you can be mature and happy at the same time. In the mean time, remember you're only young once and enjoy it.
I think people of that age are capable of being mature. Sometimes people behave in a way in which they are expected, or told to behave. As long as teens understand what being mature is, then they can be mature.

I don't agree they have to act certain ways at certain ages, I think that is a generalization, and there are always exceptions to the rule.
Totally. I'm 15. I guess, when you feel moody you might be comparing yourself to adults. And when you're happy and hyper, you might be comparing yourself to children.
It depends what you mean by mature, there's different ways to be mature. Teenagers are often mature in some ways, but not in others. And we can't be expected to be completely mature - we're not adults! People should cut us some slack.

Why is it so many teenagers are not on birth control?

I think they are not on birth control because they are too embarassed to ask their mom to take them to the doctor for it and therfore if they are too embarassed then they should not be having sex in the first place or they think they will not get pregnant and that is why they don;t think twice about birth control.

If you are having sex you should use some form of birth control cause if your not then your just asking to get pregnant. Why is it so many teenagers are not on birth control?
because they might be afraid that their parents will find out. also it could be preasure from their partners; who really knows. Why is it so many teenagers are not on birth control?
That is a good point but maybe they should be aware of S,T,D and maybe they are but then again parents are reminding them so much about AIDS and the thought of them doing anything to there parents well then you have this guy he is a boyfriend that is telling them that they will use a rubber and then oops a rubber broke or I thought I could pull out in time all because of us parents are so scared of are kids and we forget to trust them and want them to trust us to the point that they can't even talk to us. I think we as a parent needs to start talking to are kids and build up that trust so they can ask us questions like if it does happen what should I do or Dad I need you what am I to do. think ABOUT ALL OF THIS.
because teenage girls thinks they can raise their babies perfectly and dont need birth control.
I don't know haven't you seen the Maury show I think most of them want to have babies.
    because parents are in denial
In some cases, the parents don't want them on it. To them it means they are having sex. I was put on it for medical reasons, and my mom said, ';Just because you are on it doesn't mean you can go have sex.'; I think parents need to talk to their children and let them know everything when it comes to sex and birth control- aids, stds, pregnancy even if on the pill, etc. etc.
There are many reasons, physical and social.

    1) They are afraid to ask their parents about it because it means admitting that they are having sex or want to have sex

    2) They don't want to deal with the potential side effects

    3) They can't afford the medication

    4) Using a condom isn't ';cool'; or they feel ';it ruins the moment';

    5) Too many false myths about sex, such as ';you can't get pregnant your first time';
one reason and a good one could be that they dont have that bond with their parents, so they really dont get warned how BIG the consequences are.

some think they are ';bab @sses'; and nothing can happen to them.
'Cause they don't have a clue what they're getting themselves into. They know about the risks probably, and the pregnency, and what not, but they forget about that all when it actually goes down.
For god sake are any of you parents of teenagers they are not all screwing each other those that are have bad parents which is why they don't use contraception
maybe they are all having sex
Because they are afraid to tell their parents that they need or want to be....and they don't know that there are places you can go for it even without a parent....and it is sad. This is why there are so many dumpster babies, abortions and such....
Probably because they would need their parents help to get the birth control and they don't want to admit they are having or considering having sex. They just don't think ahead about how hard it will to admit they are having or fathering a child.
Because they don't think its necessary until they found out they are pregnant.

  • Who can get the vaccine for cervical cancer? Is it just for teenagers?

The FDA approved Gardasil for girls and women aged 9-26. And the only reason for that is because that was the age group studied in their clinical trials. So honestly, it probably works for anyone--it just hasn't been studied for anyone.

More trials are coming out for men-- and it likely works, its just not FDA approved. I'm sure a doctor would give you the vaccine, and that it would be effective, even if you weren't a 9-26 year old female.Who can get the vaccine for cervical cancer? Is it just for teenagers?
If you are in Austrailia, it is free for women under 27. If you are over 27 you can still get it, but you have to pay for it. I think it is somewhere between 100 and 200 dollars.

The vaccine protects against the HPV virus, which is sexually transmitted. This virus is associated with the development of cervical cancer. When I asked, my Doctor told me that women who are over 27 but monogamous need not worry to much about getting it.Who can get the vaccine for cervical cancer? Is it just for teenagers?
If you have been sexually active you may have already been exposed to the strains of HPV so it is not worth doing.

I don't think that's strictly true - I was told in the leaflet we received before the jag that even if you WERE sexually active, you were to get the jag, as it is not certain that you have been exposed to HPV if you are sexually active. So in my opinion, it is definitely worth getting, and if you can, go for it.
Technically any woman who is not sexually active could get it, but I suspect if you were over 20, you would have to pay for it.

If you have been sexually active you may have already been exposed to the strains of HPV so it is not worth doing.

Remember, women who are vaccinated need PAP smears even still because it only vaccinates against 2 of 15 types of HPV which have been implicated in cancer

The age range is 9-26 years old, for women only. You can get more Information from your local clinic or women's health centre or doctor.

Do parents understand what we teenagers go through?

Yes, after all all adults were teenagers at one point in there life. Times have changed some, but they still understand. Give them more credit, and if there is something you are going through...talk to them. If you holding back and having problems, then it is harder for them to be supportive and helpful to you.Do parents understand what we teenagers go through?
99.9% of the time they have been there tooDo parents understand what we teenagers go through?
hmm, my dad does, but my mom dont..

i agree that parents were once a teenagers, but they worried diffrent things, and we worried diffrent things like, our appearance, social status, etc.. but back in their time do they care this stupid things?? NO!!!!!!

so they will never understand us now.. sad, i wish i was born on that era, aahhh i hate this era!
Yes, they were teens too, ya know.

My Mom did stuff we do. Except it was easier to get away with it without rules. My Mom once ditched school to go to the beach, although her car broke down on the way back and her mom had to get her towed home. My Dad was part of a party so bad that when the kid's parents came home the shower head was out of the wall and the ceilings were ruined. That got him a death threat in his yearbook, for his part in it.
it is true that parents all have been teenagers, but now with all the media and crap going on in this world, they will NEVER UNDERSTAND. they were teenagers... but probably like what 20 years ago? alot changed... its just that they wont COMPLETELY understand...
more then you think they do.
Yep, trust me there's NOTHING new.
Yes and no. They remember what is was like being a teenager. The horomones, the changes (Both physical and mental), the confusion everything. However, times are a little different than when your parents were growing up. They had different things to worry about. They didn't have to worry about preditors online, staples in Halloween candy, or anything like that. They know what it was like for a teenager to worry or be anxious. So yes, they understand the basics of how you're feeling or what you are worried about. The specifics, not so much. Give them some slack. Things were different back then.
Yes. They were, after all, teenagers at one point.
Yes because they have been teenagers themselves.

What do yall think about the way that todays kids and teenagers act.......?

just wondering i think that this genration is mostly of spoiled rotten mean kids........i know im 17 and i have ALWAYS hated school and being around kids my age

no smart comments PLZWhat do yall think about the way that todays kids and teenagers act.......?
I am 16 and I think our generation is too materialistic and spoiled by their families. I don't like to hang around with most kids at my school either. They are too self-absorbed and stuck up. I have never been like them.. I am not handed everything on a silver platter and I work for the things I have. I don't like the kids who don't appreciate anything because they are just used to getting what they want... it sickens me.What do yall think about the way that todays kids and teenagers act.......?
Thank the government for that. Taking God and religion out of school, courts, etc. Since God and the ten commandments are taken out, Satan is able to run around more freely.

I think that kids do act real spoiled and want everything
Most not all kids these days are rude, lazy %26amp; have no respect for other people or their property. My personal opinion is it's because of the lack of disipline.
I'm 17 too and I don't thing that it is that bad, maybe it's just the area that you live. I know there are some in my area, but no one likes them either. lol
I think a lot of em need to be Spanked or yelled at by that Drill Sgt on Sally Jessy.
i feel ya on this one im 15 and ive noticed that too. But i think its because of the ';Me'; Generation mindset that everything is about them. Its amazing how anybody keeps any friends anymore. Luckily i live in the midwest so it hasn't hit us too hard yet but recently i was in chicago and the teens there were awful. Same story in California and Washington D.C.
we act far beyond our time. If our parents do not guide us, then what do you expect from our generation? If parents of the last generation do not own up to the responsiblity of taking care of their children, their end result of their procreation generates into ';spoiled rottem mean kids';. I don't like the idea of being around kids, or shall I say children in my school, but have you ever thought about looking at yourself and see why you feel this way? Not everyone of our generation is spoiled, mean, and rotten, so maybe you should expect someone that is not of these characteristics, and not to prejudge based on past experiences.
They take longer to mature now a days...and yes alot of them are spoiled and think they are better than everyone. Just keep a good head on your shoulders and you will go much further than the spoiled, immature ones.
I've been very impressed with many many of the young people who ask and answer questions here on Yahoo.
mmm you may be right, but you must remember that most of your generation live all around the world and the vast majority are dirt poor, not spoilt, perhaps the spoiling has to do more with society that with the kids themselves.
kids are spoiled because their parents don't make them work for anything they just give it to them in this world u have work to have something
I don't blame the kids i blame the parents. No parental supervision, not teaching them the value of money or how to work or that it is ok to get your hands dirty while working, how to be polite, not to lie and the list go's on!
im 16 and i cant stand being around other kids my age .. except for my friends. i dont hate school .. but i cant stand the kids in it. all they care is who they are gonna screw or drink with or get high with. its terrible!!

im with you on this one .. :)
I'm 15 years old and I think that it's all the ';mean girl's'; faults. If it weren't for their fake blonde hair, stuffed bras, fake tans, and smart remarks, highschool would be so much easier. These girls also cause the guys to be all preppy and act mean. This is just my opinion though.
Yeah basically todays kids/teenagers are pretty spoiled. They don't know what it is like to have your friends be shipped off to war or to not have your parents buy them cars, xboxes and designer handbags.
Yea im a parent of two preteens and it seems to me that today parents are trying to please thier children instead of the other way around so now we got these disrespectful children who really dont know any better. Even mine...I think we parents are trying to give what we didnt get when we were children but then I turned out alright and I could never talk they do to my parents...Its a bad trend sweeping our nation for sure!!

Sounds like your a good kid with great parents or maybe you appreciate the things you have because you dont have parents like others. Keep up the right attitude.
Most are lazy and over weight, and really mouthy to there parents
parents got to busy to raise their kids right.

My sis is a stay at home mom and her kids say please and thanks..... ps they can play computer games but can not have a tv play station. Also they don't wear belly shirts.

I know working fast food isnt the greatest, but honestly you have to start somewhere. If you can hang in a fast food joint for a while, employers will look at you better. Try a pizza place, fast food but not as bad as working at MCdonalds.Good first job for teenagers?

What are 7 things teenagers can do to remain safe online?

First they can start with conserative screen names. For a bad example, see yours.

Then they can stay off of chat rooms where they have no reason for being, there are plenty of places for them to talk to friends without inviting other in.

Parents should place computers in a visible place and be aware of when kids are on.

Parents should also monitor what kids are doing and understand the sights they are using.

Teens can also be sure that they never meet anyone they met online, especially alone.

They should also watch the words they use, as it will give off an impression that they do not want to be conveyed to other people.

They should also watch the topics they discuss and the pictures they post as anyone online can see them, and they can be damaged, even if they think a picture or email is just going to a friend. What are 7 things teenagers can do to remain safe online?
Most important is to have parents that monitor what they do on-line.

Don't talk to people that they don't already know.

Never give out personal information about themselves such as phone number or address. What are 7 things teenagers can do to remain safe online?
    1. no chatting

    2. go only to safe websites

    3. do not give any personal info out

    4. always be aware of lurkers, there's always someone trying to pull a fast one, be careful

    5. never open email if you don't know who it's from

    6. use good judgement

    7. learn from your mistakes
    Never show age

    Never show email address

    Never chat to strangers

    Never agree to meet up

    Never share passwords

    Change passwords often

Be very careful to type the correct url on sites

    Only download from trusted sites

    Never tell location

Reporting online bullying to staff where possibly

More than seven but should be enough for now

    All the best

    Moose
    never give your real name

    never give out your schedule

    never give your true age

    never give your location

never give the real names of loved ones/relatives

    never give your phone number

never meet anyone you meet online
    1. Don't talk to strangers.

    2. Don't meet any online folks in real life.

    3. Don't post excessive details about your full name, address, school, picture, etc online.
I follow by just using common sense.

    Here are my 7's.

    1. Don't give out things like phone numbers. If you want to talk to this person, then you can buy a mic and talk to them using the talk feature built in a messenger or Skype.

    2. Don't give out addresses. This is obvious.

    3. Don't give out credit card numbers to people (duh).

    4. Don't talk about things that are really too personal. People could use this information against you.

    5. If someone starts making you feel awkward by asking weird questions, block them.

    6. If you put a photo on the internet, make it decent. Don't put up a picture of you in your two piece bikini. This just makes you a target to the wrong kind of people.

    7. If you use a webcam, then don't use it to strip for people. It's used to make conversations on the internet more ';life-like'; and not for that other reason.

To me, things like telling someone your name or age doesn't hurt in my opinion. People say that peds can track down your name, but come on. If your name is ';John Smith'; for example, the person would have to really need something to narrow down their search. Even uncommon last names like mine (It's Heiman) brings up at least a hundred people on whois searches. And for age, I think it's good to tell people, so then you can find others around your age and relate to them better.

    And that's my advice.

Is it right that teenagers live by themselves at the age of 18 ?

It depends how mature they are. If they CAN look after themselves, why shouldn't they?Is it right that teenagers live by themselves at the age of 18 ?
    wow

yes of course...if that don't i won't find that very pathetic

humans are the only animals that shelter their young for so long...it's unnecessaryIs it right that teenagers live by themselves at the age of 18 ?
My sister moved out to a whole different state by herself in her OWN appartment.. she didn't know anybody and didn't want to live in the dorm rooms... she turned out fine. she's 23 now and has her own house.
I'm 19 and still living at home because I don't see the point in paying $1,200 a month for a 700 sq ft apartment (yes - that's how much they cost in my area). I'm also saving money because my boyfriend is in the military and when he gets restationed in 2 years we want to be able to buy a house off-base.
do they have a job? are they trust worthy?do they really want to? and at that age there not a teenager anymore there an adult so if they want to live by themselves then its really there decision to make
Why not? If they have a job and are supporting themselves, why should they continue to be a burden on their family?
Eighteen is considered an adult, therefore yes.
my opinion is yes!!!! and where i live at 18 you are an adult
It depends if they're willing and able to take care of themselves.
    YEePP :_)

    They are an adult.
i think it is, i'm 17 and i guess technically i live with my mom but she disappears for weeks at a time leaving me to fend for myself. I do just fine, i have academic achievement awards, i'm a member of the international thespian society and i have held a part time job for the past year, oh and in the last 5 years or so i've done about 300 hours of community service.

it all depends on how responsible they are and if they're mentally able to take care of themselves
like completely alone or just away from their parents? my cousin turned 19 in december and she's been living with her friends in an apartment for the past year I think, but now she's married so she moved in with her husband.
    well yeah, college...
Yes absolutely, while some kids are more mature than others, you are considered an adult at age 18. I've been on my own since age 17 and did very well. Sometimes, you cannot live with your parents for one reason or another and you have no other choice but to live by yourself.
    It depends on the person..

I have met so many over 18s who just don't cut it as adults.. I would fear for them to get a job and to live on dorms, let alone live in your own place!
yes it teaches them 2 be independint and they will appriciate u much more. i think teenagers should move out at 16
well that all depends on the responsibility and maturity of the person...if it is someone who TRULY knows the responsibility of taking care of theirself and they are able then yes it is fine...but if there is someone who is immature and irresponsible then they have no business moving out on their own...But anyway after a while it gets tiresome and they'll be ready to run back home!!!
yes, it is right, it is proper, and should be mandated by every parent out there.....
Yes...as long as they are self-supporting. It gives them independence and a sense of confidence and responsibility.
At 18, you are legally an adult.. you can do what you want.. the only person you have to answer to is the law.
