Why Rap so popular amongst the society's teenagers?

I don't get what is so cool about fast talking illiterate rapping about stuff that probably never happen to them. I also don't like how degrading rap videos are to woman.Why Rap so popular amongst the society's teenagers?

Because parents and other guardians are haters because they dont want rappers sayin wats on tha mind kids wanna do and listen to stuf that their parents dont want them hearing because they want to brainwash them and in all the videos Ive senn and in all the studios I have been in they pay the women top bucks it aint like thier illegal immigrants or somethin tey get paid and live the nice life
Well I Love rap music and not all rappers talk about stuff that most likely never happened to them. Such as Ludacris, he says he never went to jail, never been shot at and never shot or shot at someone.


Rap has meaning.


As for the women they degrade themselves. They must not have a problem being talked about because they come in flocks to video shoots. It's not just video girls it's porn stars and other women who like to show off their body. Thats life.
First of all teens are known for being rebellious. They like going against what is acceptable to society. I know when I was a teen I was pretty wild myself and I was what you would call rebellious. I agree a lot of the rap out here is bad, but all teens know is that their friends like it, and a lot of it talks about bad things they may think is cool at the time. Bad = Cool to many of our youth. Not only that but as long as the song has a good beat that they can bounce around to it they will like it.
thats the pop filth fake hip hop stuff you hear on the radio and watch on MTV!! i agree some of the songs are just crap and really degradin towards women!! but listen to some real hip hop that actually says somethin in their songs and i bet you perspective will change!! Real Hip Hop Is Not Played On The Radio!!
Rap music has a good beat thats why we like it.

Ok, where do I start? I am a 27 year old female, a stay-at-home mother of two, white and born and raised in suburban Colorado. I think you would say I am the farthest thing from the typical fan, but I personally love rap: gangsta rap, chicano rap, old skool, free-style it doesn't matter!! If you want to start talking about illiterate, you might want to do a grammar check on your own question! It takes a lot of talent to be able to rhyme some of the stuff they put in their songs. And when it comes to things that never happened to them, do Hollywood producers and actors only do movies about their real-life experiences? Do poets and authors only write about what they've done? And when it comes to videos being degrading to women, those women sweat, breathe, and die to get into those videos. That's their dream, not something they are forced to do. If you don't like them ( I don't prefer some of them myself) then change the channel. If you can personally talk as fast as those guys to a beat and make it all rhyme more power to you, but it amazes me how much thought they put into their flows. It is poetry set to a beat, just read Tupac's lyrics sometime. And PS: not all of us ';whiteys'; listen to the radio crap that is so popular, and I'm not from the hood and I can understand what they say. People who say different are trying to categorize us based on racial bias.
It's catchy and that's pretty much it. I agree it is illiterate, which is why rap today gives true hip-hop a bad name...

well.. lemme guess.. ur probably some older white guy who does the twist and cried the first time u heard a beatles song! well.. it was mainly cool to those who could relate to the messges it presented when it was first born.. over these decades it has evolved as the streets of which most of these rappers has also been altered. and as the children grow.. they grow up listening to these kind of lyrics, and people talk about women because 1. that's how some hoes are 2. this is what they think about 3. it would be GREAT for those kind of things to happen. not everybody lives the great live you may live you cheese and crackers eatin fool. and if you don't like it.. don't TALK ABOUT IT... stop complaining and do something constructive with your free time instead of talkin bad on something that you are almost completely ignorant about.. i don't understand why people wear black eye shadow and cut theirselves while listening to goth rock but i don't complain!!!!
