if you are talking about the freedom to make your own choices, then it come with responsibility. the person who has the responsibility has the power. when you are a dependant child living under your parents roof, you must respect their authority. when you leave the nest and take on all your own expenses, then you have the power and the freedom to make your own choices in life. freedom comes at a price.We are doing a debate on Should Teenagers have freedom or not?
I'm actually on the debate team so I'm used to stuff like this. What usually always works is medical evidence. Find medical reports on how a teenagers brain isn't fully developed enough to handle the freedoms and responsibilities of adulthood. If I think of more I'll edit.
You can also look up death rates of teens due to gang violence, drugs, drinking, etc. Then say something like ';If this was with restrictions of freedom, how would it be with full freedom?'; So, you can basically say more freedom=more death. And you can link the death to a decrease to the economy. Meaning a decrease of people=less workers=decrease in economy.
You can also look up birth rates of teens. And how many teens abandon their children after birth. Or abortion rates. Or you can say child birth=overpopulation.
Being a teenager myself, i guess MANY teenagers in this generation is taking advantage of their parents such has doing illegal actions behind their parents backs. They should also be restricted since the death rates are caused by making uncomplete well thought out choices, such as DUI. Education now a days are being misused, we need to stay in the top in both medical and technology wise. Thats all i can think of.
teenagers should have freedom because if they live life not being free then they'll want to rebel against their parents therefor doing worst things than if you'd just give them some freedom their less likely as long as you tell them why some of the stuff you're not allowing them to do is bad for them. they need to feel like you can trust them enough to let them go out on their own etc.
Because they are at an impressionable stage and are hormonal. They are at a time of their life when they CAN make impulsive and wrong decisions in trying to find out who they are or trying to fit in with the crowd. God knows how many embarrassing things I've said or done as a teenager make me totally cringe whenever I remember them now.
Teens should have plenty of restrictions on their freedoms. Parents aren't buddies and no matter how out of the loop teens think their parents are they know more than you and know better from experience. Ask them how they thought about their parents then and now.
Teens shouldnt have freedom because they dont pay bills. You have to earn freedom its not a right.
teenagers like to socialize and have fun and its not fair to not let them enjoy life
