Do models and celebrities in advertising promote an unhealthy body image for teenagers today? and why?

my media assignment :) i need peoples opinions xDo models and celebrities in advertising promote an unhealthy body image for teenagers today? and why?
Some do. But to be honest, it's really all about a persons ability to separate the appearances of Hollywood from the reality. People can complain all they want about the unhealthy body image, but the fact is if people want to be skinny, its a personal choice. And being in the public eye is just something they choose too. It's better then if everyone was fat. Then kids would start overeating and not exercise. Hollywood is skinny, but it also stresses the importance of health. Few respected celebrities are skinny because of eating disorders. It's dieting and exercise. Do models and celebrities in advertising promote an unhealthy body image for teenagers today? and why?
I believe nowadays people focus too much on the physical, and its a shame that teens have to feel so much pressure because of what the media says about body image, and the material things they should have. I believe that their are some celebs that present a good body image in the way that they look (Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys) and there are some that just look ridiculous and they give teens a false view of what is normal. Teens are greatly influenced by the media, thats is why teens act the way they act, and do the things they do. In another aspect, celebrities are not the parents of the teens absorbing the media, the parents of the teens should help and guide there children in healthy thinking.
I was just watching Desperate housewives and grey's anatomy reruns and it was crazy. Sickly skinny women, every last one of them. When all you see on tv is waaay skinny people, you naturally start looking at your normal self as abnormal.

But, at the same time, being fat isn't healthy either, and it's a known fact that the US has an obesity problem.

So, it seems to me that a small portion of the teenage girl population is buying into the super skinny ideal set forth by models and celebrities, and then about half of the population is buying into the McDonalds commercials and leading unhealthy lifestyle. Both are equally disturbing and detrimental to health.
I see enough overweight kids walking around today that it seems that it is not that much of a problem. Maybe for a small select group of young women in certain cultures that believe the thinner they are the better they look.
Well i`m a guy and the only thing male models could advertise for me is fitness wich isnt a bad thing
I think No

they are just advertising
