What book changed S.E Hinton tendency to write for teenagers?

S.E. Hinton was first published (The Outsiders) in 1967 when she was seventeen years old. She wrote ';That Was Then, This Is Now'; in 1971. She followed every four years ith ';Rumble Fish'; and then ';Tex.'; She felt that she was able to connect with young people and continued with that theme throughout. Her last novel was ';Taming the Star Runner'; in 1988. After that, she turned to picture books for young children as that is where Hinton cultivated her love of reading at such a young age, which is why she was such a fine writer at an early age.
